What is an IOP program? An IOP program is an intensive outpatient approach to treatment. Patients continue living at home during their time in the program.
Supreme Wellness Recovery’s structured IOP program treats substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders. We provide the same high-quality care as an inpatient program but more flexibility. The classes, activities, and counseling sessions differ somewhat since we tailor care to each patient’s specific situation.
The requirements for attending IOP are straightforward. An intensive outpatient program is designed for people who don’t require 24/7 supervision or detoxification. People with mild addictions who can’t commit to a long-term inpatient program will benefit from an IOP.
Intensive outpatient programs are also beneficial for people who are leaving inpatient rehab. The program provides continued support, guidance, and other services to help people acclimate to sober living.
An intensive outpatient program is generally more affordable than other types of treatment. People who don’t have insurance or have limited financial resources can still get the treatment they need.
In the early stage of treatment, most IOPs require a commitment to attend daily scheduled meetings for 10 to 12 hours per week. Supreme Wellness Recovery’s IOP classes and group meetings last about three hours each.
In response to the limitations imposed by the virus pandemic, we offer some IOP sessions online. Typically, patients stay in our IOP program for about 90 days. As you progress through the program, the daily schedule gradually shortens based on your level of improvement.
Each IOP program differs in its approach to treatment. But most of them adhere to a certain standard. In addition to attending scheduled counseling and support sessions, you may have assigned homework, as well.
A day in the IOP program at Supreme Wellness Recovery will be a mix of therapy, group sessions, and life skills training. Some of the things to expect during intensive outpatient treatment include:
Most intensive outpatient programs offer flexible schedules with morning, afternoon, or evening sessions. This flexibility allows patients to choose a schedule that aligns with their routine.
When our patients can quickly work the sessions into their daily lives, we find that they are more likely to remain in treatment.
The benefits of IOP programming far outweigh the few disadvantages. The most significant advantage is that Supreme Wellness Recovery’s IOP program allows our patients to undergo therapy without significant disruption to their daily lives.
Many people don’t get the treatment they need because they can afford it or can’t commit to long-term inpatient programs. An IOP program can fill the gap between the two situations giving people access to affordable, life-changing therapy.
While in IOP, patients benefit from the opportunity to practice the skills they’ve learned in real time. Each day, they face triggers or situations that allow them to test and strengthen their newly-learned coping skills.
When someone enters an inpatient program away from home, they often feel isolated. Even though they are surrounded by peers and staff, being away from family and friends can be lonely. Patients return home every night to spend time with loved ones and enjoy their normal routine in our IOP program.
An IOP is not too relaxed or less intensive than an inpatient program. The daily classes and groups at Supreme Wellness Recovery’s IOP are highly structured and require a high standard of commitment and accomplishment. However, an intensive outpatient program also gives patients options based on their needs, such as flexible scheduling.
Supreme Wellness Recovery offers a comfortable, secure environment where patients can relax and focus on healing. We are in-network with most major insurance companies to ensure that patients get the affordable treatment they need.
Our goal is to help patients gain the skills and confidence to build a fulfilling life after treatment. We work with many community partners and treatment providers to provide continuity of care and excellence in addiction treatment.
Supreme Wellness Recovery offers a holistic approach to treatment that helps patients heal mentally, physically, and spiritually. Patients benefit from a comprehensive treatment program that includes counseling, behavioral therapies, experiential therapy, and medication-assisted treatment.
